Transvaginal ultrasonographic depiction of a Gartner duct cyst.

چکیده
artner duct cysts, the most common benign cystic lesion of the vagina, represent embryologic remnants of the caudal end of the mesonephric (wolffian) duct.1 These cysts are usually small and asymptomatic and have been reported to occur in as many as 1% of all women.1,2 Because the ureteral bud also develops from the wolffian duct, it is not surprising that Gartner duct cysts have been associated with ureteral and renal abnormalities, including congenital ipsilateral renal dysgenesis or agenesis, crossed fused renal ectopia, and ectopic ureters.1,3–7 In addition, associated anomalies of the female genital tract, including structural uterine anomalies (ipsilateral müllerian duct obstruction, bicornuate uteri, and uterus didelphys) and diverticulosis of the fallopian tubes, have been described.6,8,9 Transabdominal and transrectal ultrasonographic depiction of Gartner duct cysts have been reported previously.2,5,7,10 Here we report the transvaginal ultrasonographic findings of this condition.

Gartner duct cyst in pregnancy presenting as a prolapsing pelvic mass
Gartner duct cysts are the remnants of the Wolffian duct and they are rarely seen in adulthood. We present a case of a pregnant patient with a prolapsing vaginal mass. متن کاملNeonatal Gartner Duct Cyst: Two Case Reports and Literature Review.
Vaginal cysts are rare, particularly in the newborn. They usually present as one of these three entities in the newborn: paraurethral cysts (Skene duct cysts), Gartner duct cysts (mesonephric ductal remnants) or a covered ectopic ureter. Abdominal ultrasound should always be included in the clinical evaluation in search of renal anomalies. We report two cases of Gartner cysts in neonates.

A 10-month-old female toy poodle was referred to the University of Tokyo Veterinary Medical Center with a urogenital anomaly found during sterilization. An exploratory laparotomy revealed a cyst adhering to the cervix and a unilateral renal agenesis. Histopathology and immunohistochemical analysis of the cyst was consistent with remnants of the Wolffian duct or a Gartner duct cyst. This is a ra...

A 5 year-old, intact female Yorkshire terrier was referred for dysuria and dyschezia. The radiographic and ultrasound examination showed a round shaped mass caudal to the urinary bladder that contained anechoic fluid within the thin walls. During surgery, the cyst was noted to be attached to the outer wall of the vagina, not connected to the vaginal lumen. Cystic fluid was removed and the cysti...
